FAQ

FAQ

Q: How to open the feeder easily?

A: For safety reasons, the feeder is designed hard to open. That way, your little one is unable to open it on their own.

In order to open the feeder, we recommend putting your nail in between the lip of the head part and the seal ring to prise open a gap to make it easier to separate them. If you can’t use your nail, you can also use other tools to prise open the gap, such as a spoon.

Q: Will the clear silicone food pouch get stained?

A: The clear silicone pouch may be stained. Silicone is an absorbent material and can absorb the colours and smells of substances it comes in contact with. Although your silicone products can go in the dishwasher, we recommend hand washing with hot, soapy water. To sterilise, we recommend boiling in water for 2-3 minutes of using a steam steriliser. We strongly recommend not using any bleach-based agents or sterilising tablets to clean your Haakaa products as it can affect the clarity of your product. Although your products might become cloudy after using detergent to wash them, silicone does not leach and it is still completely safe to use. If you are still concerned, you can sterilise your pouch again by boiling in water, just to be safe!

Q: Is it safe for baby to take the frozen milk ?

A: Most babies find amazing relief from their sore teething gums when using the fresh food feeder with frozen milk cubes. If you are unsure at all, we would recommend you seek guidance from your medical professional

Q: Can I frozen formula in the food pouch?

It’s best to refer to the manufacturers guidelines on your tin of formula. Many recommend not to freeze formula and only prepare it fresh

Q: What else can you put in besides breast milk?

A: When your little one starts solids, you can pop in frozen cubes of purée. They go down a treat! You can even freeze portions of food directly into the feeder itself, just fill the pouch, pop the cap on and put it In the freezer. You can of course also put fresh food directly into the pouch for bubs.
